All these components may be run separately or integrated on top of general and cost accounting platforms, based on local and/or international accounting standards (IAS).

The ISIS system and its implementations at the headquarters and operational sites of the romanian main producer and distributor of tires won the Microsoft 2001 EMEA (Europe – Middle East – Africa) RAD (Retail Application Developer) Award for Retail Headquarters Applications – ERP.

The system is designed for the Windows platform (Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 Professional/XP on workstations), being developed in C++/C#, using the Visual Studio .net development environment and SQL Server 2000 as database management system.

The latest ISIS .net version provides ERP functionalities as web applications, available on any computer connected to the Internet. This system version allows integration with partners and legacy back-end systems, as well as with future applications and services, using .NET and XML as interchange.

Nowadays the ISIS solution has been migrated to the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, using COM+ components for the business layer and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a database support. The reporting solutions have been migrated toward the Reporting Services from the Business Intelligence 2005 platform.

The ISIS .NET solution is operational at the Howard Johnson Grand Plaza hotel, at the Best Western Parc hotel, at the railway transportation company C.F.R. GEVARO SA and at the rubber and plastic articles producer Energia Constantza.

B2B Portal

Omnis Group has created the ISIS Portal system, a B2B solution providing opportunities to automate collaborative business processes with clients and suppliers. The ISIS Portal system performs the following tasks:

  • Members Storefront

  • Tranzactions between companies using a predefined workflow for Procurement (Supply) Management
  • Accessing ISIS – ERP services in backoffice (invoicing, payments, stocks, accounting, payroll, etc)

The ISIS Portal system is developed integrally on the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 technology and uses a service-oriented architecture. The database support is based on SQL Server 2005. The support for the SOA technology is offered by the Microsoft Communications Foundation platform. The supply chain management workflow between the companies is based on the Microsoft Workflow Foundation platform.

Science & Research

Omnis Group gained significant expertise on Unix/Sun platforms, working since 1992, together with specialists at the Digital Imaging Unit from the Geneva University Hospital, on two major projects:

  • Melanie/Expasy – software for interactive manipulation of digital medical images. Tools were developed to automate and simplify the detection, quantification and matching of 2-D samples, on SUN 4 and SUN SPARC stations, using the SunOS 4.1.x and Solaris 2 operating systems and the graphical user interface tools offered by XWindows X11r5 and OpenWindows 3.3. The development was performed using OSF/Motif, C++ 2.1 and 4.0, SPARC Works;
  • OSIRIS – software to allow an easy customization and expansion of the image manipulation and analysis tools, on SUN SPARC stations, using X11-window system and OSF-Motif environment.

International competitions

Each year, an international jury composed of experts in digital economy invites software applications developers to present their best solutions and implementations in the retail industry. The entries are evaluated in the RAD (Retail Applications Developer) Awards competition, hosted by Microsoft EMEA (Europe – Middle East – Africa).

The ISIS solution and its implementation in the romanian tire industry companies won, in 2001, the award of the Retail Headquarters Applications – ERP category. In the selected group of winners, Omnis Group joined, among others, NCR Corporation from USA, Matra Systems and Radiant Systems from UK.

At the 2002 edition of the same competition, the ISIS .net system version was nominated as a finalist in the category “Best use of open Internet technologies”, next to IVIS, the UK company that built the IT solution for the Tesco retail chain.
